High-risk merchant accounts.
High-risk merchant accounts placed directly with acquirers who underwrite the category — not through aggregators that stack you under a generic descriptor until the inevitable freeze. Per-category routing: supplements and CBD differ from peptides and steroids differ from cannabis differ from adult differ from pharmacy.

- A merchant account placed with an acquirer that actually underwrites your category
- Underwriting file prepared the way the acquirer reads it, not the way you think about your business
- Approval inside 10–60 days depending on category
- Multi-MID architecture for operators above $250k/month volume
- A documented relationship you can escalate when problems hit
- 01
Category routing
Which acquirers underwrite your specific category, in your specific jurisdiction, at your specific scale. Not all high-risk acquirers accept all high-risk categories.
- 02
Underwriting file
Financials, processing history, refund policy, fulfilment proof, descriptor, chargeback history. Packaged the way the acquirer reads it, with weaknesses pre-addressed.
- 03
Application
Submitted to the right acquirer (often 1–3 in parallel for redundancy). We manage the back-and-forth and document any clarifications.
- 04
Live and monitoring
Account goes live, processing starts, weekly monitoring for chargeback ratios and processor sentiment. Flagged before reserves get held or rates get raised.
01 How long does approval take?
Clean files in established acquirer relationships: 10–21 days. New acquirer relationships or complex categories (peptides, RC): 30–60 days. Rejected files: usually because of incorrect routing — we re-route and resubmit.
02 What chargeback ratio is acceptable?
Under 1% for most high-risk acquirers. Some categories (subscription adult) tolerate 2–2.5% with corresponding rates. Sustained 1%+ triggers reserves and rate increases regardless of category.
03 What if I have a history of frozen accounts?
Common in this market and not disqualifying. We document the freeze history, explain it in the underwriting file, and route to acquirers who underwrite based on current operation rather than legacy issues. A clean six-month history matters more than a clean lifetime history.
