Google reviews.
Google reviews are the single most consequential review surface for local restricted retailers — and the surface most vulnerable to coordinated negative-review attacks. Review velocity, response strategy, response copywriting, and dispute workflow for fake or competitor-driven negative reviews.

Velocity programme
Post-purchase review prompts (email, SMS, QR code at checkout). Timing and friction tuned per category. No incentives that violate Google’s policy.
- 02
Response strategy
Pre-drafted response templates for each review type, customised per actual review. Public responses are visible signals; we use them as positioning, not just damage control.
- 03
Dispute and removal
Fake reviews, competitor-driven attacks, off-policy content (profanity, personal info, hate speech) flagged through Google’s dispute process with the right evidence package.
- 04
Monitoring
Daily review monitoring across all locations. New review alerts surfaced to support; suspicious patterns (review-bombing, sudden velocity) flagged for escalation.
01 Can I incentivise reviews?
No — Google’s policy prohibits incentives in exchange for reviews. Loyalty-point reward for any review (positive or negative) is borderline; we generally avoid it. The velocity programme works through good timing and easy submission, not bribery.
02 How do I deal with a one-star review-bombing attack?
Document the pattern (multiple new accounts, reviews within minutes, generic content), submit a coordinated removal request to Google with evidence, and request escalation through verified-owner channels. Recovery: 5–21 days for clear-cut cases.
03 Should I respond to every review?
Yes — 5-stars, 1-stars, everything. Public response signals to the buyer that you’re engaged, not absentee. Even a one-line thank-you on positives matters. Response rate is itself a ranking signal Google factors into local pack visibility.
